Has anything significant happened in this period?

We’ve been running a series of workshops and clinics (some in partnership with Dublin City Council’s Climate Action Office) to support communities in their applications for climate action funding. It’s been really affirming to hear communities support for LEVERS and it’s approach, particularly in contrast to larger funds. People seem very interested on the shaping, and developing of a core idea, together with various experts brought in. Happy for it to be a slower process, and one that focuses on soft skills, as opposed to things like funding solar panels on the GAA club.

What are you doing differently?

Yes, did a session with Dee to work through our Near and guiding stars, as well as dedicated brainstorming time within the team to work through these ideas. Found it very helpful.

Next steps

Continuing workshops, our open call will be finishing on the 6th December so will be looking to appoint our LV area Jan 16th

Is anything making you uncomfortable at the moment?

Hoping that communities actually apply for the project funding. Anxious to see if their projects we can support

Anything else?

It’s come up in a few places, but particularly around teachers trying to need and appreciation of vulnerability. To stand in a room and say you dont have all the answers, that you’re scared too, seems to be a way to engage students in these discussions, but that’s against the Irish school system standard approach. So how will we support people when they feel like this.

Other needs

Very constrained in how we can disseminate the allocate LEVERS budget through LEVERS, currently trying to figure out the best way to bring in expertise where needed, and to pay for it.
